Textbook: Required: Preaching Christ from the Old Testament: A Contemporary Hermeneutical Method by Sidney Greidanus (Eerdmans 1999). Recommended: Old Testament Today by John Walton & Andrew Hill (Zondervan 2013 2nd Edition) [Kindle editions available for both]

Cost: $100 plus textbook(s)

Course Summary

This course will introduce the historical background, literary types, and challenges of reading the Old Testament, along with interpretive principles for understanding and applying the texts. The class will involve 12 classroom sessions meeting weekly for lecture and discussion. The class will finish by the second full week in December.
