D.Min. from Grace Theological Seminary

Dr. Gregory M. Howell is a Pacific Northwest native, having grown up in Sunnyside, Washington. He came to Christ as a teenager at a Billy Graham film and began preparing for full-time pastoral ministry.

Dr. Howell received a BA in History from Grace College and an M.Div. in 1979 and a D. Min in 2007 both from Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana where he served as a part-time youth pastor and then fulltime Associate Pastor before moving back to Washington. He has been Senior Pastor of Community Grace Brethren Church in Goldendale, WA since December of 1981.

Pastor Greg and Colleen live on a small ranch outside of Goldendale and by the grandchildren’s recent count care for over 100 animals. They both have been active 4-H leaders for more than 20 years and continue to be involved in local church and district youth events including summer camp. They have nine grown children and fifteen grandchildren, most of which reside in Washington and Oregon.

Dr. Howell is a world coin collector, a model railroader, and a presidential history buff. He has coins from nearly 100 countries, including several ancient coins of the Bible, as well as an extensive collection of US coins. He has visited about one-third of the US Presidential museums so far and loves to read biographies, memoirs, and historical works of all kinds.

His greatest joy comes from teaching God’s Word especially to those who will teach others also. He has traveled to Sierra Leone, West Africa to be an instructor at the Grace Bible Institute which is sponsored by Willamette International.
